Alzheimer's Disease Research from different perspectives

Workshop - San Diego, CA, United States

The Internationale Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek (ISAO), the Alzheimer Forschung
Initiative (AFI), the Ligue Européenne Contre la Maladie d’Alzheimer (LECMA) and the
BrightFocus Foundation (BrightFocus) in collaboration with the European Graduate
School of Neuroscience (EURON) will organize the 4th edition of this workshop
again as a satellite event to the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) annual meeting. The
workshop aims to provide PhD students as well as post-docs a state-of-the-art
overview of current knowledge and new directions in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) research.
During this interactive masterclass prominent scientists and young researchers from
all over the world will meet in a closed venue where opportunities are created for in
depth discussions. The areas covered will be: comorbidity, neuropathology, metabolic
disorders and AD, stress hormones and AD, epigenetics, biomarkers of aging, virus-based
approaches and transgenic models of AD, amyloid and tau pathology, inflammation,
astrogliosis in AD to name just a few.
