International Congress on Neurotechnology, Electronics and Informatics (NEUROTECHNIX 2013)
Conference - Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal
The first research works on neurotechnology can be dated back nearly half a century, but it is in the XXI century that most significant advances are being witnessed. Neurotechnology shows a very high potential of enhancing human activities, involving technologies such as biometrics, robotics, brain imaging, brain computer interfaces, and other combinations of neurological and biomedical knowledge with engineering technologies. This conference will be a meeting point of both clinical and engineering professionals, academics and practitioners. It will promote translational discussions on how technology can meet clinical needs of both clinical practitioners and persons with neurological disorders.
Neurotechnix will emphasize research and application of neurotechnologies to different neurological disorders, such as: Neuromuscular diseases, Parkinson disease, Developmental disorders, Dementia , Epilepsy, Sleep disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroinfections, Brain Tumors, Stroke, Traumatic brain injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury, Vision and Hearing disorders, among others. Authors are invited to submit innovative research work that highlights new advancements of neurotechnology either in general or regarding a particular case, application or pathology. New ideas on how to approach neurotechnology challenges and issues will arise from the conference. Both clinical and engineering viewpoints are expected. Papers describing case studies, advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are encouraged. Papers should describe original work in any of the topics listed below.
