Keystone Symposia: Innate Immunity, Metabolism and Vascular Injury

Conference - Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

The conference will:

• Seek an improved understanding of the basic biology of innate inflammation, which will in turn help us to identify new therapeutic targets and modalities to treat chronic metabolic disorders of atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes;
• Bring together leaders studying monocyte development and trafficking, macrophage activation, systems biology of myeloid cells, inflammasomes, clearance of apoptotic/necrotic cells, atherosclerosis and obesity/
type 2 diabetes;
• Foster additional collaborations and interactions through the joint pairing with the meeting on “Complications of Diabetes.”
Session Topics:
• Monocytes: Development and Disease
• Genomics of Myeloid Cells
• Macrophages and Vascular Inflammation (Joint)
• Inflammasomes in Metabolic Disease
• Innate Inflammation and Insulin Resistance
• Apoptosis and Necrosis
• Where Are the Missing Genetics in Diabetic Complications? (Joint)
• Progressing Fat and Regressing Cholesterol
plus workshops on late-breaking topics
