Science Researcher Update: Spotlight on Meetings, Conferences, and Events

1st International Workshop on Topological Electronics (Topotronics2015)

Posted on Jan 28, 2015 5:07:00 AM

Workshop - Okinawa, Japan

“Topological Electronics” is a new paradigm of electronics which utilizes novel quantum degrees of freedom including geometrical phase (Berry phase), topological insulator, and non-local coherence or entanglement. In the Topological Electronics the electrical control of geometrically protected quantum phenomena is the key element providing dissipationless electronics and technical breakthroughs for future electronics and solid state quantum information technologies. A geometry-related quantum nature of the states and their interactions plays an essential role in spin-orbit interaction, topological insulators, topological superconductivity and Majorana fermions, and quantum correlations including non-local generation of entanglement. In this workshop, we particularly focus on such representative quantum phenomena in low-dimensional electronic systems.
