Conference - Mainz, Germany
The conference will focus on the emerging roles of RNA molecules in regulating gene expression and affecting chromatin structure in the nucleus. Recently it has become apparent that non-coding RNA molecules do not represent exceptional individual cases, but rather play a very important role in gene regulation, and their functions often appear to be conserved. Many different kinds of non-coding RNAs have been identified, and our understanding of their molecular mechanisms of action and their implications on biology vary widely. For small RNAs, for example, relatively well-established molecular frameworks exist, while for many enhancer-related RNAs we almost completely lack molecular insights into their operation.
