Science Researcher Update: Spotlight on Meetings, Conferences, and Events

BPS James Black Meeting – Inspired Biologics 2014

Conference - Cambridge, United Kingdom

Over the last decade new biologics, such as recombinant proteins and antibodies, are increasingly being considered as treatment options for diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Consequently development of these new molecules has identified key pharmacological challenges, such as mechanism of action, dosing and route of administration, lung exposure, biomarkers of response and patient stratification.
As part of the James Black series of meetings ‘Inspired Biologics 2014’ aims to consider many of these aspects with a series of themed symposia and poster sessions covering such topics as the pharmacology of biologics in respiratory disease, molecular engineering of biologics, recent clinical trial updates, the utility of biomarkers for patient stratification and the clinical pharmacology of respiratory disease.

Organization: British Pharmacological Society
