Posted on Jul 5, 2014 1:39:00 PM

Conference - Keystone, CO, United States

The purpose of the meeting is to analyze all recent developments in this very exciting field and build bridges towards translational applications with therapeutic significance for liver disease.Recent discoveries in genomics, stem cell biology and personalized medicine are rampant in today’s liver research and they are given high emphasis during the presentations and discussions. Models of hepatic recolonization and bioengineering constructs are also actively presented and discussed. As in previous years, there is a lively participation by both the presenters and the attending audience and very creative ideas are being generated that impact on developments in the field.

The conference is by its nature interdisciplinary and allows a multifaceted examination of complex problems from different perspectives.
The conference is also a long-standing one taking place for more than 20 years and has played a catalytic role in areas such as carcinogenesis and stem cell biology related to all hepatic cell types. The pervading spirit of the meeting is that fundamental understandings lead to practical discoveries. The interactions between established scientists and young investigators entering in this field are facilitated by special sessions that maximize interactions between the two groups.
