Emory University receives the Work-Life Seal of Distinction for the fourth straight year. In addition, Emory’s own Audrey Adelson, manager of WorkLife Programs within Human Resources, is selected to receive the 2015 AWLP Work-Life Rising Star Award, recognizing stellar individuals who exhibit a combination of professional and personal attributes that demonstrate emerging leadership and growing contributions to the work-life community [3]

In 2014, Emory University received $521.8 million in total research funding awards and $483 million in health sciences research funding awards. Emory also received $85 million in federal research funding awards in addition to NIH funding. [4]

The School of Medicine at Emory University sponsored 3,254 research awards totaling $331.3 million in funding in FY 2012. [5]

Emory Healthcare will manage the $200 million Emory Proton Therapy Center, which is being built by Advanced Particle Therapy and will treat about 2,200 patients a year after it opens in 2016.

In 2013 Emory dedicated the five-story, $90 million Health Sciences Research Building, where research focuses on childhood diseases, cancer, drug discovery, genetics, and biomedical engineering. [7]

Emory Healthcare is constructing a 210-bed, 450,000-square-foot addition to Emory University Hospital, scheduled to open in 2017, and is also making extensive renovations to its outpatient facilities. [8]

Emory University is carrying out a $52 million expansion and renovation project at the Sanford S. Atwood Chemistry Center. About 40,000 square-feet of existing space will be renovated, while another 70,000 square-feet will be added to the building. The building is due to be completed in early 2015. [9]

Emory University has signed a 5-year $19.4 million contract as part of a consortium to study and catalog in molecular detail how malaria parasites interact with their host. [10]

Emory University researchers received a 5-year $9.6 million grant for the Yerkes National Primate Research Center [11]

The NIH awarded Emory University a 5-year, $9 million grant to study Fragile X syndrome and its associated disorders, and to work toward developing more effective treatments. [12]

In the summer of 2014, construction began on a new 55,000 GSF Science Building, which will accommodate researchers and educators in biology, chemistry, geology, physics and astronomy. The facility will also house new teaching wet labs and is due to be complete in the spring of 2016. [13]

Emory University with other Atlanta partners established a new autism research center with an $8.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. The Autism Center of Excellence consists of more than 25 researchers and physicians from eight laboratories working together. This center is one of three similar enterprises in the country, and organizers say this establishes Atlanta as a leader in autism research. [14]

The NIH awarded Emory University researchers $7.2 million over 5 years to identify new therapeutic targets for Alzheimer's Disease. [15]

The NIH Awarded a 5-year $6.1 million grant for a project titled "CELL THERAPY FOR DIABETIC PERIPHERAL NEUROVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS". [16]

Emory University received a $6 million grant to be distributed over three years, from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in order to develop an effective vaccine for HIV/AIDS. [17]

The NIAID awarded $5.3 million to Emory University researchers for a project titled "B-CELL BIOLOGY OF MUCOSAL IMMUNE PROTECTION FROM SIV CHALLENGE". [18]

Emory University School of Medicine received a $5 million, five-year grant to identify and validate new cardiovascular disease risk biomarkers. [19]

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Emory University Hospital (EUH) the number one hospital in both Georgia and metro Atlanta in its 2014-2015 Best Hospitals guide for a third year in a row. [20]
