2012 Life Science R & D Expenditures: 28th Ranked = $417,153,000 [1]

2013 NIH Funding: for University of Colorado Denver campuses: 26th ranked = $184,343,068 [2]

CU Anschutz Medical Campus gained more than $772.4 million in private support through the Creating Futures Campaign in the past six years. This included more than $14 million to establish the Charles C. Gates Center for Regenerative Disease, gaining CU Anschutz world-class faculty expertise in stem cell research. The donations also included $17 million to establish the Linda Crnin Institute for Down Syndrome and $11 million that funded a new facility for the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. [3]

The University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is undergoing a $400 million expansion which includes a second building dedicated to inpatient and emergency. Completion of the new building is scheduled for 2013. [4]

NIH granted a $48.4 million five-year contract to the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, a collaborative organization between CU Anschutz, six hospitals, and local communities, to accelerate the translation of research discoveries into improved patient care and public health. [5]

The Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora is the newest and most modern facility in the world regarding the combining of patient care, research and education. It is a virtual Medical Educational Research City. The only one of it's kind with complete state of the art facilities and groundbreaking research and innovation occurring, facilitated by the complete access to everything that could possibly assist in medicine, education and patient care. [6]

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded an $11 million grant to study and improve mothers’ nutrition before pregnancy. The five-year grant supports research on maternal malnutrition in poor communities and its effects on growth retardation of offspring. [7]
