2013 Life Science R & D Expenditures: 40th Ranked = $299,122,000 [1]
2014 NIH Funding: $38,233,591 [2]
During the most recent fiscal year, researchers at Texas A&M and affiliated A&M System agencies formed six startup companies and executed 50 licenses, bringing the total number of active licenses to 441; 38 licenses for new technology were executed and 32 patents were issued. [3]
TAMU facility researchers generate more than $820 million in research expenditures. [4]
The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced Texas A&M will continue to manage operations for the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) with funding of up to $250 million over the next five years, plus as much as $87.5 million from other nations that participate in the global ocean drilling program [5]
Texas A&M University will be awarded a series of grants totaling $176 million over a 5 year period. Over an expected lifetime of 25 years, the federal contract to create a Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing is likely worth $1.5 to $2 billion. [6]
Texas A & M University is finishing construction on a new $120 million building as part of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, expected completion in 2016. [7]
Texas A&M is constructing a new $91 million pandemic influenza vaccine-manufacturing facility expected to be completed in late 2015. [8]
Texas A&M University, College Station is receiving $10.8 million over 3 years from the Chancellor’s Research Initiative to boost multidisciplinary quantum biophotonics research. [9]
The EPA Awarded Texas A&M Researchers $6 Million Grant to Investigate Environmental Impact on Cardiac Health [10]
TAMU received a two grants from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for structure-based discovery of critical vulnerabilities of micobacteria. One award was for $1.9 million and the other for $1.8 million. [11]
The National Cancer Institute granted a $1.3 million award for the study of comparative mechanisms of cancer chemoprevention. [12]
Researchers at Texas A&M University received $1.1 million from the National Institutes of Health to study the structure of Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins. [13]
A $1.1 million grant was awarded to TAMU from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. [14]
