  •  Life Science R & D Expenditures: 96th Ranked: $122,396,000.

    Thomas Jefferson University recently established the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health. Funded in part by $25 million in donations from Bernie Marcus, this institute will facilitate research, education, and clinical care in the integrative medicine program. 

    The Sidney Kimmel Foundation awarded Thomas Jefferson University Medical College $110 million to maintain and advance the medical school's high research and quality of care standards.
  • Thomas Jefferson University received $14 million to establish the Marcus Integrative Health Institute at the Myrna Brind Center.

Jefferson University - also know as Thomas Jefferson University, with support from the Kormans, have created the new Jane and Leonard Korman Lung Center. The partnership focuses its efforts toward understanding lung disease by means of innovative research and expanded clinical programs to provide outstanding care and results for patients. 

Last year's event attracted a total of 169 attendees, of which 66 were professors, post docs and purchasing agents.  Of the total attendees 5 were lab managers. The balance were research associates and postgraduate students. Attendees came from 14 different buildings and 25 different departments.
