Vendor Fair Provides Answers for UC Davis Health Science Researchers

Posted by BCI Staff on Wed, Apr 20, 2011

The University of California at Davis has $276.7 Million in active NIH grants.  $53.4 Million of that has been awarded in 2011 alone, and awards continue to be announced for the current fiscal year.  Total NIH funding for the School of Medicine has more than doubled in the past nine years, bringing it to 37th place among 134 medical schools in the United States.

Biotechnology Calendar hosts two science trade shows each year for researchers in the UC Davis community: one on the UC Davis campus in Davis, and the other at the UC Davis Health System campus in Sacramento.  The Sacramento show is coming up this June 15, and we expect the strong turnout we always get at this premier event.

Consider the attendance at last summer's show:

  • 208 attendees (150 anticipated)
  • 83 professors and post-docs
  • 20 lab managers

When polled, attendees reported the strongest interest in the following equipment and service areas:

  • Antibodies
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Electrophoresis Eq. & Supplies
  • Molecular Biology Products
  • DNA Synthesis Eq. & Supplies
  • DNA Sequencing Services
  • Microscopes
  • General Lab Equip. & Supplies

Scientists and lab managers come to our shows looking for answers to their most pressing research problems, offering suppliers of equipment solutions and innovative tools the ideal opportunity to share information and make contacts for future sales.  Plan now to attend the upcoming Sacramento BioResearch Product Faire™ Event at the Courtyard Marriott on the UC Davis Medical Center Campus in Sacramento this June 15!
