Posted on Jul 25, 2014 11:28:00 AM

Workshop - Bar Harbor, ME, United States

This workshop will focus on practical application of the CRISPR/Cas-9 technology in cells and miceCRISPR-Cas is a newly emerging genome-editing technology. The technology is poised to revolutionize genetic engineering and the study and treatment of genetic diseases.  CRISPR-Cas appears simple; however, targeting success rates vary considerably. This workshop will focus on practical application of the CRISPR-Cas technology for use in cells and mouse model systems. On day one lectures introduce the CRISPR technology and address current technical issues and challenges. Significant time will be set aside for question and answer sessions after each presentation.  Day two will include an optional laboratory practicum focused on optimization of molecular techniques.
