Symposium on Biological Complexity: Genes and Physiology

Symposium - La Jolla, CA, United States

The Salk Institute is pleased to announce the eighth annual Salk Institute, Fondation IPSEN, and Nature Symposium on Biological Complexity:

This symposium is designed to integrate the physiology of the cell with the role of genes in diverse physiological functions like energy, balance, food intake, inflammation, cross-talk between organs and our biological clock.

The isolation and characterization of Pol II transcription factors, the initiation machinery and chromatin modulators have shown that physiology and transcription are part of the same molecular canvas. These parallel strands of biology have merged to empower transcription as an underlying regulator of health and disease and to help us rethink physiology as an exquisite readout and a window into the dynamic aspect of the genome.
