The university is continuously under going construction as well as attracting new funding research. In fact, it is planning on spending $120 million dollars on a new building and facility expansion for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science. This development will help keep the university at the forefront of veterinary medicine research. The money comes from the Permanent University Fund, which is supported by public investment in higher education. The new building will house classroom and laboratory space while the small animal hospital receives an addition. The new building is expected to open in 2016 to celebrate the universities 100th year.
